Akshay Kumar’s movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, director Shree Narayan Singh is all set with his new movie titled ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu‘. This movie is also like his previous movie, this will also awaken the moral/social/civic conscience of his audience with its content. In Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Padmavati stars Shahid Kapoor will play the lead role. The movie will raise the issue of rising electricity charges and escalated billing in many parts of India.
There were many speculations for the casting of the actress opposite Shahid Kapoor but now, according to the report of Mumbai Mirror, Ileana D’Cruz will be considered for the role. One of the co-producers of the film, Prernaa Arora said, “We have only spoken to Ileana so far. It is a strong role of a lawyer with intense scenes and we are casting now.”
The film’s teaser was released on 18 Oct, one day before Diwali. Shree Narayan Singh said to PTI on this that “Diwali makes it just the right occasion for us to shed light on a subject that needs to be discussed. We look forward to making a film that is both commercially entertaining and encourages a social conversation,”.
According to the report the shoot of the film will go on the floors from 19 January next year. Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri, Mussoorie and Nainital will be the locations for the shoot of movie. Batti Gul Meter Chalu is slated to release on 31 August 2018.
