Music maestro Wajid Khan bids adieu to the world today and left his family and fans in tears.
The news about his death was confirmed by singer Sonu Nigam, who took to Instagram and wrote, “My brother Wajid left us.”

Talking about Wajid’s illness, Music composer Salim Merchant told PTI, “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.”
Not only this, but an entertainment journalist Faridoon Shahryar also reported that Sonu confirmed to him that Wajid had coronavirus. “Sad News: Noted singer Sonu Nigam just confirmed to me that music composer Wajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid passed away a short while back. He was suffering from Covid 19,” he tweeted.

Soon after the news of his death, the internet was flooded with the tweets mourning the demise of a great music composer whose contribution to the Bollywood was commendable.

A source close to the family has revealed to a news agency that Wajid Khan was buried around 1 PM, today.
Due to lockdown in Mumbai, only 20 people were allowed for the funeral with police security and barricades. “Only close family, including brother Sajid and friends from the industry, were present,” the sources said.
