IIFA Awards 2020 postponed amid Coronavirus outbreak

The deadly and infamous Carona Virus has scared almost everyone around. Even Bollywood has decided to go cautious amid the catastrophe.

While the celebs are cancelling their foreign trips and wearing masks at airports, even the award shows have also altered their dates.

The 21st International Indian Film Academy Awards, which was supposed to be organised in March in Bhopal, has postponed the dates of the event in wake of the Coronavirus scare in the country.

The revised dates have not been shared until now.

Taking to their official Instagram handle IIFA shared the update and wrote, ‘We will be back with new plans in Madhya Pradesh!
Please take the necessary precautions and stay safe.’.

Even Tthe official Twitter handle of ANI had also shared the updated via tweet,”International Indian Film Academy Awards: With due regard to the growing concerns around the spread of the #COVID19 virus and, after consulting the Madhya Pradesh government, it has been decided to postpone the event (originally scheduled at the end of March) to a later date.”

Till now, more than a dozen cases of COVID-19 have been reported so far. The outbreak has terrified the entire nation and people have been advised to stay safe.

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi cancelled the Holi Milan event held every year and issued an advisory asking people to avoid public gatherings.
