Music is an integral part of everyone’s life.

A life without music is no less than a bland plate full of your favourite food, you may eat it but you can’t enjoy it.

Similar flavours and tastes are brought up in our lives through music. And while we all love to listen to our favourite songs, we do have some favourite singer as well.

And today is the birthday of one such amazing singer, the lady with a very melodic voice- Shreya Ghosal.

It’s not just her birthday that made me recall some of her amazing melodies but also the fact that in 2020, she is going to complete her 18 years in the industry.

The journey of glorious eighteen years that turned a novice into one of the most enchanting vocalists of the country.

Let’s have a look at some of her best songs:

1. Silsila Ye Chahat Ka – Devdas (2002)

The movie was a masterpiece in itself, Sanjay Leela Bansali very gracefully adorned the movie with an amazing starcast, and whenever you think of the movie -Devdas, the song ‘Silila ye chahat ka’ start playing in your head and you start imagining Aishwarya Rai Bachchan holding a diya on her palm and wait, can you hear a soothing voice humming the song? Yes, that voice is of our very favourite Shreya Ghosal.

2. Agar Tum Mil Jao – Zeher (2005)

The movie may be titled ‘Zehar’ but the songs, especially this one ‘Agar tum Mil Jao’, is definitely the sweetest antidote for the title. When Mohit Suri filmed the song, he would not have thought what magic Ghosal’s voice can do. The voice of Shreya Ghosal is probably the best thing about the song.

3. Deewani Mastani – Bajirao Mastani (2015)

Can you imagine the movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’ without the song ‘Deewani Mastani’? The song did what, cinnamon do for Biryani. (sorry I am a bit foodie, pardon me for using food to express things😉)*

 4. Teri Meri – Bodyguard (2011)

The song ‘Teri Meri’ from Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Bodyguard was no less than a trump card of the potboiler. The song soon became favourite of many lovers and just like most of the songs sung by Shreya Ghosal, this song too became a chartbuster.

5. Piyu bole – Parineeta (2005)

The track is both sweet and innocent, just like our lovely lady Shreya Ghosal. I bet no one would have sung it better than her.

Which one is your favourite out of these? Or there’s something you thought could have been there? Comment and share.
