Horror is a genre liked by all, while Hollywood and other international entertainment industries hold the title of producing the finest horror flicks, even Bollywood has not lagged behind to experiment and try its hand on this genre.

The experiment was hit or flop! Only the audience can tell this, but before you give a judgement let’s have a look at a few Bollywood Horror movies and then you can give your judgement in the comments.

As Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for the release of Bhoot Part One, let’s look back to the times when Bollywood tried to scare the life out of us.

Let’s get started:

Darna Mana Hai (2003)

Ram Gopal Verma is a name synonym to Horror movies, he holds the crown of producing most of the Horror films. Whenever the name RGV comes up, the first thing that hits your mind is- Horror!

Darna Mana Hai is like a combo box of six short horror stories that are capable to make you call your mom because it will leave you too scared.

13 B (2009)

How would you feel if you can foresee the future but the future has some really bad news for you? Well, the story revolves around such a disturbing concept.

13 is an evil’s number! And when A family shifts to 13 B, some strange events start happening. From the script to the cast, everything in the movie is perfect. You can feel the tension as the family goes through a weird phase. But who is doing it all? A spirit or it’s just the psyche attached to this number-13? You will have to watch this movie to find an answer.

Phoonk (2008)

Another creepy film by Ram Gopal Varma, Phoonk revolves around superstition and black magic. Ram Gopal Verma had also promised to offer Rs 5 lakhs to anyone who would watch the film alone in the theatre and not get scared. Up for the challenge?

 1920 (2008)

The film has all the cliched elements that a  classic horror story should have. A Royal deserted mansion, a mysterious caretaker, and a newlywed couple but the sheer artistic finesse is something that sets it apart! The way the innocent girl gets possessed by a Dominic spirit changes the whole plot and gives an eerie feeling. Chills guaranteed!

Raat (1992)

Yet another masterpiece by Ram Gopal Verma. The movie has a supernatural thrill and that wicked smile of ‘mimi‘, the girl with beautiful eyes who can actually kill you, will not let you sleep in peace. The movie also has a very strong connection with cats. Love cats? watch this film, you will change your mind for sure.

So, which one are you planning to watch today?
